Long ago Christmas changed the world.
We believe it can happen again!
Christmas is not about us, it’s all about Jesus.
Each year at The Bridge we engage in an Advent Conspiracy. We aren’t saying stop giving gifts, get rid of the tree, no decorations and forget those Christmas stockings. We’re saying —let’s experience Christmas the way it was meant to be--a joyous celebration of Jesus’ birth that enriches our hearts and the world around us. We’re saying Christmas is so much more.
This Christmas we invite you to:
- Worship Fully - because Christmas begins and ends with Jesus!
- Spend Less - and free your resources for God’s Kingdom work.
- Give More - of your presence: your hands, words, time, and heart!
- Love All - the poor, the forgotten, the marginalized, the sick, in ways that make a difference.
Join the (Advent) Conspiracy
Advent Conspiracy is about giving more of OURSELVES to each other. Give more presence. Spend a little less so you can give a little more.
Since our first Advent Conspiracy offering in 2007 you have given $206,741.26 in order to love all like Jesus loved. You’ve built water wells in third world countries, contributed to housing and the care of orphans in Haiti, trained pastors and planted churches in India, and sent our own missionaries, Lance and Sandy Smith, to train pastors and plant churches in Thailand. The cash amount given doesn’t take into account the food baskets, the shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, foster children sponsorships, missional community projects, and all your many acts of kindness and generosity throughout the Christmas season. Yes, Christmas DOES still change the world. We invite you to join the conspiracy to spend a little less so you can give a little more.
Christmas Offering Dates: December 18, 24 & 25
Offering Goal: $40,000
This year our Advent Conspiracy Offering will be used for
Church Planting at home (Ste. Genevieve) in Thailand, Haiti, Zambia & around the world!
Church Planting in Thailand
In 2017 we will be continuing our commitment to train pastors and plant churches in Thailand. At the north edge of Bangkok a church plant is underway in Sai Mai with Pastor Jaran & Malai Papathe. In the inner-city, King’s Kids outreach in the slums continues to grow in partnership with Pastor Bey & Waan Maiwong and Bangkok City Church. Further south in PaDeng village Phetchaburi Province we are discipling Peter and Nung Tanachotkitikun as they serve and extend the Gospel to kids and families in their community.

Natalie Jackson, Missionary to Haiti
In December I will be graduating with my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education (1-6)! I am so glad to have it in arms grasp!! Things have been in the motion of change for a while now looking toward graduation. God laid this desire on my heart to go to Haiti at this time, and then an awesome internship followed a few short months after. After graduating I will be become the Volunteer Coordinator for Hope, Health, Action in Cap-Haitian, Haiti.
What is a volunteer coordinator?
One of my main jobs is coordinating volunteers. When teams or individuals want to stay at Volunteer Village, they will contact me to set up when they want to stay and logistics for their trip. I will drive to pick teams up and drop off anyone that stays at the Village. I will also help with various calendars between the Village and the hospital, financial tracking for the hospital, and staff's working hours at the village.
How long will I be gone?
The position is a year commitment. I will be leaving around the New Year this year, which will put me back in the states for good, as of right now, in late December 2017/early January 2018. This is all subject to change, of course.
How can I help?
Pray! I covet your prayers starting now. Prayers of peace for my family (mom) and myself as this is a big step of faith; the people of Haiti, now and always, as there is so much going on in the government; my Creole lessons, that I am quick to listen and learn; and that I am receptive to God’s voice as I am prepping for this. If you would like to support me financially also, fill out this form and I will get in touch very soon to give you more information. This position is treated like a internship, so I have to pay for most of my expenses.
You can learn more and follow Natalie's journey on her blog, Simply Nat.
